White Tiger Wushu Zhan at UNO 2nd year anniversary at SMX

Yesterday, April 26, White Tiger Wushu Zhan was invited by the Dragon team of UNO corp (Unlimited Networks of Opportunities International Corporation) to perform for their team in the UNO 2nd year anniversary celebration at SMX, Mall Of Asia.

Our call time was 12pm but we arrived at past 10am. Only then did we learned that the program will start at 3pm. It's a sop for us to report to our contact person for possible stage blocking and length of performance before the actual show. Therefore we went to SMX bldg to talk to our contact person. Unfortunately, the SMX securities were so so so strict. They refrain people from entering the building before the actual time of the event, unless you have anevent ID. We don't have that, good thing we arrived the same time as our contact person, the guard let us through. The event started with the cheerleading competition within the different teams of UNO distributors. We performed the Chinese Lion and Dragon dance for the Yellow Dragon team. After the short competition, the main program started. Mocha girls, which are the endorsers of UNO corp, sang and danced a Pussycat doll's song. The two main hosts were introduced, they were Tuesday (a comedy actress) and an UNO corp member. Aside from awardings and speeches, there were intermission numbers from Kyla and Mocha girls again. Mocha girls on their second number turned the stage on fire with their "Talk to me dirty" contest with 3 UNO members partnered with other 3 mocha girls. A kiss with Mocha from the winner sizzled the stage and made the men audiences envy. Whoa! When the main program ended, party started with a bang! The Parokya ni Edgar took the stage by storm. It literally shook the SMX floor with the audiences' jumping to the beat. Even with the bouncers and securities around, they can't stop the audiences from getting wild. Especially when Chito Miranda himself encouraged the people to do so. Hehehe. They were supposed to perform just 6 songs in a row but they were really generous enough to perform more. Before the last song ended, we headed out to prevent the crowd since we carry the bulky Chinese Dragon and Lion and Drum.

I didn't get a lot of pictures from the event because my camera phone's battery gotten low. Too bad.

My Desktop

This is my desktop theme at the moment. I've made an animated gif of Twilight star Robert Pattinson and used it as my wallpaper. As usual, I still use my personal Visual Basic Desktop clock which I saved to my start-up programs. However, I haven't been able to finish its alarm feature up to now due to my lack of time. The desktop icons and taskbar were made using Tune-Up Utilities. The bootscreen and log on screen stayed the same, though. I'm not yet in the mood to edit another set in Photoshop. Although, I've been thinking of making a "Twilight theme" (boot screen, log on screen, screensaver & same wallpaper). Maybe some other time. Just can't get enough of Twilight, haven't I? hahaha..

Ciao!

Happy Holidays to all

TWILIGHT movie review

This movie received lots of positive reviews (mostly from the fans of Twilight novel) and negative reviews (from the non-readers of the book).
I categorized myself in the non-readers part but for me, I'll probably give this movie a 4 out of 5 stars.
For those who haven't read the novel, I perfectly understand their point of view. For them, it's a slow moving, bland film. They expected it to have lots of action packed thrilling, blood sucking scenes, considering it has vampires in it. But hey, this is not "Underworld" nor "Blade" kind of vampire movie. I could say this is a pretty “stock” teen romance movie. Since I haven't seen a romance movie for a long time & since the story is not the typical human-to-human relationship, I really liked and enjoyed watching it.
After a little researching about the novel, I'm eager to buy the whole Twilight saga novel now. If ever Twilight saga's second novel, New Moon & third novel, Eclipse will be out in the movies..I think, these would have more action scenes than Twilight because the Cullens together with werewolves packs will fight Victoria (the lover of James. Remember the 3 vampires from another coven in Twilight movie?) and her army of new-born vampires.

Astronomical Smiley

Last Monday night (December 1, 2008), while back riding in a motorcycle, I suddenly looked up at the sky and was surprised to see a large smiley. At first, I thought the two eye-like figure were stars then the smiling lips figure was the moon. It was my first time to see such an astronomical shape that made me pull out my cellphone and took my best shot. It was a very comical view.

When we arrived at Rey's house, we saw it in the news too. I thought I was the only one who noticed the smiley. It was then I realized that the two eye-like figure were the two planets, Jupiter and Venus. Seems so close with each other from an earthling's eye view. hahaha. According to a certain website, these planets will be seen close with each other again on May 2013. Truly amazing, isn't it?

RP wushu team bagged gold, silver & bronze2

Too bad, wushu is just a demonstration sport in the previously Beijing Olympics 2008. We could
have at least 1 gold in our medal standings. Actually, wushu would have been listed in the official sports of the Olympics this 2008, if only other countries approved. They want it to be in the official list but on the next Olympics. Why? Because of 2 reasons:

  1. They are not ready yet. The olympic forms of wushu are way too hard. Lots of acrobatics, speed and accurate timing.
  2. Olympics 2008 were held in China, right? According to history, wushu are known to have been originated in China since Buddha's time. And Wushu is part of school's curriculum in some schools in China. (Jet Li is an alumni in one of those schools)..so what do you expect?

Note: Wushu is not a new martial arts. It was mistakingly called "Kungfu". Wu-shu, when translated, is martial-arts. It's the origin of all martial arts. (FYI to those who's unfamiliar with it. Maybe I'll create another post for the wushu topic some other time).

ANYWAY, the reason why I post this blog is to congratulate the ff:

  • Willy Wang - Gold in Men's Nanquan Wushu Taolu event.
  • Mary Jane Estimar - Silver in the 52-kg class of the women’s Wushu Sanshou.
  • Benjie Rivera - Bronze in the men’s 60kg Wushu Sanshou.
  • Marian Mariano - Bronze in the women’s 56kg Wushu Sanshou.

If only Arvin Ting, a world wushu champion, joined the RP team there then he could have also bagged gold in Wushu Taolu Northern styles.

Below is an interview of GMA7 on Willy Wang:

Weee!! Finally!! After hours of editing the template...I finished my sakura layout!...although, I wanted to credit the original author of the template..jeje.

The original template was a Kiba-Akamaru team background. Since I like Sakura, I've changed the image using Adobe Photoshop. Then using my basic knowledge in html, i edit here....edit there...until I've satisfied with the outcome.

I've added mp3 player from playlist. A photo album from picazo. And a chat box from cbox.

Although, I haven't been able to complete the albums since I have other work to do...jeje. But I planned on adding an online games pix..with my screenies. Hmm..that's all for now
